Shrouds of the Somme Schools Programme

We aim to give school pupils the opportunity to develop a lasting emotional and intellectual response, both to the Shrouds of the Somme installation and to learning about the bloodiest battle in British history, in context of the wider war, which changed so many lives irreparably. We are offering free resources for KS2 and KS3, workshops for local schools and the opportunity for school groups to visit the installation at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, giving young people a better understanding of what these huge numbers of losses actually mean.

“The most remarkable First World War commemoration you will ever see.”
