I started to make the first 500 shrouded figures:
- Cut square of calico from a big roll
- Sew it down one side
- Place figure inside the shroud
- Tie the head, chest and feet with tape allowing the tension of the material to form its own shape so that each is different
I was sewing more shrouds all the time – it was incredibly painful, especially my right hand. I almost felt I wanted to do something that hurt to get over feeling sorry for myself.
